How it works
At Your Journey To College, we know that each student has their own path when it comes to completing this process and pursuing their career goals. We work with each student to assist them with the college application process and this results in minimal stress and anxiety. The initial appointment with your college consultant will be approximately two hours. This is the time where we get to know you and what you are looking for in a future school. Transcripts, high school profile, senior course schedule, testing scores, extra-curricular activities, student questionnaire, and parent questionnaire are reviewed and discussed. Your college consultant will gather this information and use it to complete research and formulate a plan.
Your college consultant will provide a list of colleges in the category
of a safety, target, and possible dream schools based on your grades,
courses, interests, and abilities. A comprehensive activity resume will
be completed that highlights your strengths and talents. A
personalized time-line will be constructed to adhere to all of the
college admissions deadlines and keep you on track. It is up to the
student and parent to review the colleges suggested in all of the
categories and ultimately decide which schools to visit and which schools they wish
to apply to.
Once
a list of colleges is established, you will meet with your college
consultant to go over which application(s) to fill out and the essay(s)
that need to be completed. Your
college consultant will work with you to complete the individual college applications. Certified English teachers on staff will help you create exceptional college essays. Suggestions on scholarship opportunities will
be discussed and reviewed.
The final meeting will take place later on in the college process when applications are ready to be submitted. The SAT, SAT Subject Tests, ACT, and AP scores will be sent as well.
